Immaculata Ministries
Missions of Fatima is a mission to help meet the needs of individual parish communities with the help of generous souls. Missions of Fatima has donated thousands of rosaries, prayer cards, books, it has fed thousands, sponsored Marian feast day celebrations, sent children to private Catholic schools, and has helped146 children to be baptized in the last year alone.
Story of our Missions Outreach Director: Beatrice Agola at one point in Beatrice’s life, her marriage was on the verge of collapse; she was going through an intense spiritual battle and she was suffering from an unidentifiable skin disease which covered her entire body. It was during a physical exam with a Muslim doctor that he suggested that Beatrice seek the help from the Mother of Jesus after seeing a rosary around her neck.
Realizing there was no medical help for her unbearable skin condition, Beatrice traveled to Kenya’s National Marian Shrine in Subukia. It was at this site that a miraculous spring burst forth from the ground on the feast day of the Immaculate Conception in the year 1991. Like Lourdes, many Catholics and non-Catholics alike travel to the Shrine of Subukia hoping for a miracle. Beatrice took a bus to the shrine with hope that Our Lady would have mercy on her and cure her broken body. After drinking the water from the gushing miraculous spring, Beatrice stayed the night at the shrine with another pilgrim. While Beatrice was fast asleep, Our Heavenly Mother appeared to Beatrice in a dream. Mary spoke to Beatrice saying, “Beatrice, thank you for coming to visit me in Subukia. I shall come to visit you in Migori.”
Beatrice awoke the next morning and went to Mass with the Franciscans who run the shrine. When Beatrice got on the bus to go back to her home town of Migori, she realized her debilitating skin condition has been completely and miraculously cured. Beatrice ran and told the bishop all that had happened. He wisely told Beatrice, “Continue to pray.”
It was five years later that Beatrice was inspired to rebuild a dilapidated Marian grotto at her home parish of Saint Joseph in Migori to prepare for Our Lady’s promised visit. With no funds and no way to accomplish the rebuild, she turned to social media and started an Instagram account. She immediately found Immaculata Ministries Co-founder Conor Martin’s Instagram account because his account is dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
On Going Mission with Conor and Beatrice:They began a beautiful friendship and Beatrice and Conor both started to raise funds to help build the grotto. The grotto was completed with in 60 days and is dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The grotto was blessed by Bishop Philip Anyolo of the the Diocese of Homa Bay on April 24th, 2016.
Since then, the “Missions of Fatima” has continued to be guided by the Mother of God, our Mother Mary, who has touched the hearts of people from around the world. Generous souls have been inspired to continue to donate so that the love of Mary’s Immaculate Heart can continue to spread throughout Kenya. Beatrice truly believes that our Lady fulfilled her promise: “I shall come to visit you in Migori.”
“Missions of Fatima” has continued with its mission of building Marian grottos. MOF has now built two grottos and funds are being raised for the third grotto, which will be dedicated to the Immaculate Conception.
The greater miracles that have taken place are in the communities surrounding the grottos and in the hearts from around the world who have been inspired to help. The faith of the people in the communities around the grottos has truly come alive. Missions of Fatima has continued to donate to meet the needs of the individual parish communities with the help of generous souls. MOF has donated thousands of rosaries, prayer cards, books. It has fed thousands, sponsored Marian feast day celebrations, sent children to private Catholic schools, and has helped 75 children to be baptized in the last year alone. Your donations will not only go to helping build Marian grottos, but they will help in the overall mission of hastening the “Triumph of the Immaculate heart of Mary.”
